BIOGRAPHY

Tunde Akinloye
Babatunde was born and raised in Los Angeles where he currently resides as he pursues his passion and career in filmmaking, specifically as a Creative Producer and Writer. After earning his M.F.A. from USC’s Peter Stark Producing Program in May 2018, Babatunde joined MACRO as a Film/TV & Digital Assistant for Creative Producers Aaliyah Williams and Poppy Hanks, Chief Content Officer of MACRO's Digital Studio and SVP of Production & Development, respectively. After six months, Babatunde was promoted to Film & Television Coordinator where he supported MACRO's President of Production, Kim Roth while continuing to cover Poppy Hank's desk as well, essentially supporting MACRO's entire film and television slate in all phases of production.

After a year at MACRO, Babatunde joined Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) in May 2019 to support President, Andrew Millstein, however Millstein was transferred to run Blue Sky Studios just two months into Babatunde's tenure. He is currently Production Office Manager for Disney Animation's 2021 untitled feature release, where he supports the Producers and Directors on the project. Babatunde is also Co-Founder of a full-service production team, theCollective Films—along with Justin Jemerson, Michael Washington and Richard Stevenson, Jr.—producing content for Issa Rae Productions, including "Giants Revealed", “a Sip”, "Pieces" and "B.S.U." short form series.

In Summer 2017, Babatunde was selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences to participate in the inaugural cohort of Academy Gold, a Talent Development & Inclusion Initiative created to infuse the film industry with underrepresented talent. He also spent the summer interning at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures with their VFX and Post Production team, where he was able to learn and support the production workflow of Disney's live action films.

In 2008, Babatunde graduated from UCLA with a Bachelors of Arts in Film, Television, and Digital Media with a specialization in Documentary Production. While at UCLA, he participated in two independent research programs—the UCLA Undergraduate Research Scholars Program and the Ronald E. McNair Research Scholars Program. Upon commencement, he was honored with the distinguished UCLA Chancellor’s Service Award for his efforts and commitment to both leadership and service throughout his undergrad tenure. Through Babatunde's service work, he significantly developed his leadership skills and the capability to effectively organize masses of people in a collaborative effort towards one goal, a vital skill for the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
